"Back to Gaya" a.k.a. "Boo, Zino & the Snurks"

Here is a selection of shots I worked on during the production of the movie "Back to Gaya".

I was mostly responsible for doing set and prop texturing/shading. On some of the shots I also did some heavy shader tuning within the renderscenes itself. All in all, Back to Gaya has a healthy mix of purely hand painted and photo based Texture maps appropriate to the hyper-real style of the world.

In total I worked on 43 sets and a couple of hundred props. We were 2 full time environment texture artists for the movie as well as 4 people who did additional texturing besides modelling. We were split into 2 groups for the two different parts of the movie (the "real world" which played in the city and the gaya fantasy world which was mostly nature work). We were working with a grand total of 12 lighting artists on the visuals of the sets under supervision of production designer and lighting supervisor Henning Ahlers.
