I relocated to Sydney on April 21st and started working at the Animal Logic Feature Film Division in May 2008.
April 20th, 2008 - Impy's Island 2 Premiere in Hannover/Berlin
The movie "Impy's Island 2" (Urmel voll in Fahrt) premiered today in Hannover and Berlin. While the one in Hannover was mostly for the team and hundreds of kids, the one in Berlin was more of the official nature with press and stuff. However we got the director, producer and 2 of the actors/comedians who had lent their voices to the characters at least for a couple of minutes before they jetted off to Berlin.

April 18th, 2008 - "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" has been announced
I found this announcement at slashfilm.com concerning the new project I probably will be working on over at Animal Logic, Australia.
It is based on the 14-books-epic "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" and features a couple of owls in a "post-human" world facing a great evil.

April 2nd, 2008 - "Impy's Island 2" (Urmel voll in Fahrt) Premiere scheduled
The premiere for Impy's Island 2 has been scheduled on April 20th, 2008.
Not even 24 hours before my flight to Sydney .. .
I'll probably head right from the aftershow-party to the airport.
March 28th, 2008 - "Impy's Island 2" (Urmel voll in Fahrt) Marketing
It's always a payoff to see your work in print. When I was out with some friends, they told me they had spotted this "3d" cardboard avertisement complete with several movie posters and little prints with (more or less) clever lines from the movie in a section of the multiplex. This is actually the second cinema I have seen this in so the marketing department actually seems to be doing their job quite nicely :)
March 15th, 2008 - "Urmel voll in Fahrt" (Impy's Island 2) Movie Poster
They sure took their time to get a Movie poster for Impy's Island 2 (Urmel voll in Fahrt) ready. But finally it is here. Certainly has quite popping colors that attract attention which is always a good thing considering how many colorless posters usually hang in the cinemas these days.

March 7th, 2008 - Blog added
In preparation for things to come (see the "New Job" entry below) I have added a (german) blog to the page. It's main purpose is gonna be keeping folks back at home in the loop about what's going on with me in Down Under.
It's still kind of a hack-job (the blog itself as well as its implementation on the website) but I currently have neither time nor inclination to pretty it up.

A few more press stills from the movie "Impy's Island 2" (Urmel voll in Fahrt) have appeared on the web. I have added a couple of them to the Impy's Island 2 - Section of the page. In addition 2 picture captions have been fixed.

Looks like they have commited to a May, 1st Release after all. Who knows, I might actually get to see it before I leave the country :)
March 1st, 2008 - New Job !
I will join Animal Logic (makers of academy-award winner "Happy Feet") in a few weeks time. I will be working as a Senior Surfacing Artist at their Animated Feature Film Division in Sydney, Australia as soon as May 2008.
As you can imagine I am very excited to work with such a talented bunch of people even though I am slightly intimidated by the relocation-process to sydney itself.
