This shot is an almost 1:1 conversion from Impy's Island 1. All that was added was the volleyball which I surfaced.

This isn't a scene from the movie but one of the DVD Backgrounds. I liked it anyway. Set and Ocean Surfacing plus a tiny bit of the yacht. Most of which was surfaced by Marek Binieda and Michael Peter.

Entire set surfacing except rocks. The trees in the far background are actually cardboard cutouts with Normal Maps so they could be rendered with the rest of the scene and react properly to lighting.

Set & Prop Surfacing. The Palmtrees were about the only elements in this movie where I was allowed some minor displacement based on distance from camera.

There is an almost identical camera over in the Impy's Island 1 section. It's very nice to compare the work we put into both lighting (even when they forgot the occlusion here ...) and surfacing. Entire surfacing of scene done by me.

The barrel is a left-over prop from the first movie. It was only minorly adjusted, texture contrast was decreased and they were scaled down a bit. I had already surfaced this in Impy's Island 1 and was stuck with it again :)

The whole lower part of the background fassade was surfaced by Kay Popraw for Impy's Island 1. It was then reworked a bit by me for this movie to give the textures a more simplified, toony look and decrease shader size.

Entire set surfacing. One of the problems in Impy's Island was the way the ground in this village reacted to light. Very early on in this sequel I was tasked to resurface it.

Most of the surfacing work in the background is my work. The blackboard in the background is ported 1:1 from the first movie and was done by Marieke Franzen. The cradle has some parts surfaced by her as well.

The pillow was surfaced by Marieke Franzen. a lot of the cradle was resurfaced for some reason from the first movie. I must say I can't for the live of me remember why ....

This is a completely new set that hasn't been there in the first movie even though it is staged in the village. I shared the work on this set with 2 other surfacing artists (Alexander Weide and Christian Plattner). I took care of the set itself.

The entire set itself (and a few props) was my surfacing work. This scene suffered a bit since they decided to change it's daytime even closer to night and thus darkened everything quite a bit.

This picture shows work from a lot of surfacing artists. I took care of the set, the books and the aquarium. Alex Weide did the furniture, Christian Plattner/Stephan Puschendorf the glass stuff and the globe. No raytracing in this shot unfortunately.

We couldn't use the mental ray shaders so I had to create shaders for glass & fluids which were then tweaked by the surfacers. In this shot I surfaced the set (bamboo), aquarium and green fluid. The rest was done by Alexander Weide, Chistian Plattner.

Pole Surfacing. I am pretty sure that Haggi Floeser did the water in this shot since for some reason they couldn't use the ocean I did for this shot.

My only creature work on this movie :) A little bug. Even though it has quite some screentime it moves so fast that this was the only thing I could find that didn't have lots of motion blur on it :(

The ungraded backplate. The rocks were surfaced by Christian Plattner, the rest by me. In the far background are cardboards with normal maps. This way they could be rendered and lit with the rest of the set.

This is a funny one. This crate was surfaced for background only (things like that have a habbit of turning up in front of the camera) so I put in my initials on the metal parts ("JK"). While I was sorting screenshots I realized it for the first time :)
